Product Description

Taras (Tarentum) - Calabria silver Nomos minted circa 334-330 BC.

Obverse: Taras, son of Posideon, astride dolphin swimming left, small swimming fish above. Legend KON below.
Reverse: Horseman with right arm raised, riding prancing horse.

Custom set into an 18k yellow gold bezel pendant, measuring approximately 1 3/8 inch from the top of the bail to the bottom of the bezel, 1 inch across.

Taras (Tarentum) was a colony founded by Sparta circa 708 BC and was conquered by Rome circa 272 BC.
