Bohemond III of the Antioch (1144-1201) known as "The Stammerer" or "The Stutterer" was prince of the Antioch from 1163 until his death. His most notable accomplishment was to have repelled a siege of Antioch by Saladin, who had previously captured Jerusalem from its Christian rulers.

The Crusades were a series of religious military campaigns intended to restore Christian controls of the Holy Land, particularly the Holy City of Jerusalem. There were a total of nine crusades, waged by the Christians against Muslim expansion in the Holy Land, covering a period of nearly 200 years (between 1095 and 1291).
