Spanish silver cob one Real dated 1654, minted in Potosi. Bolivia during the reign of Felipe IV.
Obverse: Cross with lions and castles.
Reverse: Pillars and waves, date bottom center.
Custom mounted into a sterling silver bezel pendant with 18k yellow gold prongs, measuring approximately 1 3/8 inch from the top of the bail to the bottom of the bezel, 1 inch across widest point.
The Santa Maria de la Consolacion sank in 1681 off the coast of Ecuador while fleeing from pirates.
